Former JTA reporter Helen Silver died at the age of 80. The Knoxville, Tenn., native worked for JTA’s Washington bureau in the 1970s and 1980s. She also wrote for other Jewish publications, including the magazine of Hadassah: the Women’s Zionist Organization of America, where she was a lifetime member.
