Nochem S. Winnet, former judge of the County Court here, was elected tonight as president of the Federation of Jewish Agencies of Greater Philadelphia. After his installation next month, he will succeed Edwin Wolf, 2nd, who has served three successive terms. He will be the third president of the Federation since the organization was formed in 1956 through the merger of the Federation of Jewish Charities and the Allied Jewish Campaign. The first president was Judge Abraham L. Freedman.
Other officers elected, at tonight’s meeting of the Federation’s board of trustees, were: Vice-presidents, Jack F. Adler, Albert M. Bershad, Frank G. Binswanger, Alfred J. Goldsmith, William S. Rudenko and Bernard Weinberg; treasurer, Frank L, Newburger; associate treasurer, Emanuel Meyer; secretary, Paul Rosenbaum; and associate secretary, Stanley I. Sherer.
