Former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke was defeated in his bid for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives. According to unofficial returns, Duke, who in a recent book called for an Aryan revolution, finished third, with 19 percent of the vote, in an open primary for the Louisiana seat. The top two vote-getters will face each other in a runoff vote for the seat, which was left open when Republican Rep. Bob Livingston resigned earlier this year after admitting to an extramarital affair.
