Former Nazis have staged tumultuous demonstrations in the towns of Perg and Wels, both about 25 miles south of Linz in Upper Austria, according to dispatches today to the newspaper Der Abend, unofficial Communist party organ.
According to the newspaper, in the two communities the Nazis celebrated the winning of 16 seats in Parliament by neo-Nazis in last Sunday’s election by shouting the Nazi Horst Wessel song and scattering paper swastikas in the streets. Der Abend added that swastikas had also been scattered in two main thoroughfares of nearby Linz.
