The Attorney General in Linz, Austria, is preparing to bring to trial former SS leaders accused of murder in the notorious Mauthausen concentration camps during World War II and is also preparing cases against SS men active in the Gusen area. The first of the accused to stand trial is Hans Gogle who is charged with numerous murders during 1944-45. The prosecution will attempt to prove that Gogle acted on his own initiative and was not obeying orders.
