Forty-five students from four local universities, George Washington, American, Georgetown and Maryland, walked 15 miles through the District of Columbia’s principal streets to express solidarity among college students for Israel. In their walk-a-thon that started at the Lincoln Memorial and ended at the Washington Hebrew Congregation, the students also sought funds for Israel’s survival and collected about $1500 among young people for the United Jewish Appeal, according to Larry Moses, the college outreach worker with the UJA in the Washington area.
