THE FIRST TRIAL IN ONE OF THE NEWLY-ESTABLISHED MILITARY COURTS WILL OPEN WEDNESDAY WHEN SHEIKH FARHAN ESSADI AND THREE OTHER ARABS FACE DEATH SENTENCES IN HAIFA FOR POSSESSION OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION.

THE FOUR WERE ARRESTED LAST NIGHT, AN OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT SAID, IN THE VILLAGE OF ALMAZAR NEAR JENIN WITH RIFLES, REVOLVERS AND 1,500 ROUNDS OF AMMUNITION IN THEIR POSSESSION, SHEIKH FARHAN WAS SAID TO BE HIDING IN A CAVERN WHEN CAUGHT. HUNTED SINCE LAST YEAR’S PALESTINE DISORDERS, HE WAS TWICE WOUNDED WHILE RIDING AT THE HEAD OF MOUNTED BANDS.

TWO BOMBS EXPLODED TODAY NEAR THE GAZA RAILWAY STATION, CAUSING NO DAMAGE.
