Problems concerning Jewish education in the United States will be widely discussed at a four-day convention of the National Council for Jewish Education which opens here tomorrow. More than 200 delegates from all parts of the country will participate in the deliberations.
The NCJE consists of educators of all groups–Orthodox, Conservative and Reform. The convention will hear reports on the developments in various fields of Jewish education and will evaluate the effectiveness of Jewish education in the school and in the community. It will also take up the question of uniting the entire Jewish educational profession in an over-all agency.
The NCJE will be meeting simultaneously with the American Association for Jewish Education which will make the first public disclosures of the results of a recently concluded survey of existing welfare and retirement programs for Jewish school personnel in the 30 largest communities serviced by central agencies of Jewish education.
