The records of four Jewish assemblymen from New York are praised in the report of the committee on legislation of the Citizens’ Union, made public this week. For their work in Albany during the past session, Meyer Alterman, Democrat, of the Seventeenth Assembly District, Manhattan, and Louis J. Lefkowitz, Republican, of the Sixth District, Manhattan, are described as “capable, industrious and effective.” Samuel Mandelbaum, Democrat of the Fourth District, Manhattan, and Saul S. Streit, Democrat of the Seventh District, Manhattan, are also praised and characterized as being “well above the average.”
