Impending “changes in four non-Aryan Berlin banks” involving liquidation of some and curtailment of the business of others are being reported, the New York Times said today in a Berlin dispatch. These reports contributed to weakness in the Berlin Boerse yesterday.
The Times also said that Dr. Hjalmar Schacht, whose office as president of the Reichsbank directorate has expired, was re-appointed for only one year, and as a result he became only provisional Reichsbank President and provisional Minister of Economics.
