Four students one of whom belongs to the Communist party, were arrested in Tashkent. Turkestan, for persecuting a Jewish student. Jehuda Moisheyev. The arrest was made by Gepu. Soviet secret police. The students continually threatened Moisheyev, persistently demanding that he leave the university because “the Jews are only able to kill Christian children,” they declared. They set fire to Moisheyev’s clothes and he narrowly escaped being burned to death.

Examination for maintenance fellowships offered by the Truning School for Jewish Socizl Work will be held simultaneously Monday on fifty college campuses throughout the country. It was announced by Mimroe J. Karpd director of the school.

The ### candidates will receive fellowships of $### and ###### Awards will be hased on the grades obtained in the examination and will be made early next month.

Those holding regress from accredited oltoges and anniversaries are permitted to take the examination. The winners will be eligible for submission to the school at the commencement of the next school year in October.
