Four U.S. Congress members are confirmed participants in a settler-affiliated conference in Israel. The Jerusalem Conference, scheduled for Feb. 19-20, is sponsored by Arutz Sheva, the settler-affiliated broadcaster.
The conference schedule includes as confirmed keynote speakers Sens. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) and Sam Brownback (R-Kan.). Also listed as confirmed are Reps. Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.).
Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-Fla.), the ranking member on the House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee, is listed as unconfirmed but invited. Topics will include “Jerusalem: Eternal Undivided Capital City” and “The Global War: The West Confronts Radical-Islam.” The majority of Israeli speakers are identified with parties and institutions on the right, although a number, notably Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, come from the ruling centrist Kadima-Labor Party coalition.
