France complained to Egypt following the satellite broadcast of a series based on “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.” The Supreme Audio-Visual Council, known by its French acronym CSA, wrote to the Egyptian Radio and Television Union at the end of last month complaining that the series based on the anti-Semitic tract, broadcast during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan last fall, contravened international guidelines regarding racial incitement and “could lead to a breach in public order,” a CSA official told JTA on Monday.
