A Foreign Office spokesman today emphatically denied to the Jewish Telegraphic Agency that France has prepared a plan for the internationalization of Jerusalem under which the new city, the Old City, Ein Karim and Bethlehem would be placed under international control.
No such plan exists, the spokesman said, adding that the position of the French Government with regard to the status of Jerusalem has not changed since the French representative delivered a statement to this effect at the United Nations. A report that such a plan has been prepared by the French Government was published yesterday in the Palestine post in Jerusalem.
