France Interns Refugees from Belgium

A group of Jewish refugees from Belgium left today for internment in the interior under Red Cross supervision. The Red Cross is attending to the internees needs and no special attention of Jewish relief organizations will be required.

The HIAS-ICA Emigration Association is arranging for all refugees holding visas or quota numbers for overseas countries to be able to emigrate with the least possible difficulty.

Among those arriving from Belgium, who is among those being interned, is David Lerer, journalist and correspondent of the New York Jewish Day. Refugees from Brussels report that the famous Polish Jewish humorist, ” Der Tunkeler, ” who had been residing in Belgium, had reached France, but has exact whereabouts have not yet been ascertained.
