Frank L. Weil, president of the Jewish Welfare Board, was today named vice-president of the United Service Organizations, succeeding John M. Schiff, who entered upon active duty with the United States Navy yesterday.
Walter N. Rothschild was elected to succeed Lieutenant Schiff as chairman of the Army and Navy Committee of the JWB. Carl M. Loeb, Jr., was named treasurer of the JWB to replace Frederick L. Ehrman, who also entered active service as a Lieutenant in the Navy.
Lieutenant Schiff assumed the duties of Army and Navy Committee chairman for the Jewish Welfare Board a year ago, following Brig. Gen. Julius Ochs Adler’s resignation to become commanding officer of the 113th Infantry Regiment.
