One of the biggest war crimes trials in Austria since the end of World War II will open November 1 when Franz Novak, former aide of Adolf Eichmann, will go on trial on charges of participating in the deportation of some 400, 000 Hungarian Jews.
Documents against Novak fill 25 volumes, in addition to testimony drawn from the materials developed during the Eichmann trial in Jerusalem. Witnesses from several countries, including the United States, will take the stand during the trial which is expected to last three to four weeks.
