French Government Authorizes Huge Sale of Arms to Lebanon in “fulfilment” of Treaty

The French Government tea authorized the sale of armaments to Lebanon, a spokesman for the French Foreign. Office announced today. He added that the transaction was in “fulfillment” of a Franco-Lebanese pact of last year.

The armaments firm of Edgar Brandt today admitted to a Jewish Telegraphic Agency correspondent that it had received orders for $20,000,000 worth of mortars, artillery and machine guns from Syria and Lebanon. The company asserted that agreements to deliver the goods were conditioned on the prior approval of the French Ministries of War and Foreign Affairs.
