The French Foreign Office denied today reports originating here that 90 French tanks and a shipload of munitions had been sent to Egypt.
A Quai d’Orsay spokesman said that neither the Foreign Office nor the Defense Ministry knew of deliveries of this nature nor of negotiations concerning them. The spokesman admitted, however, that certain deliveries had been made on an order for 40 tanks placed by Egypt last July. The last ten of these, he said, were in the process of delivery.
