The Federation of French Jewish Societies has protested to the Rumanian Ambassador in Paris against the arrest of Jewish and Zionist leaders in Rumania and the prosecution of a propaganda campaign against them.

The Federation’s resolution, delivered to the Rumanian diplomat, declared: “We resent deeply and painfully that our co-religionists can be punished for sympathy for Israel.” The resolution concluded with the requests that imprisoned Rumanian Jewish leaders be released as a “contribution to world peace.”
