The first joint campaign of the United Fund for Jewish Social Work and the French Aid to Israel Fund will be launched at a mass meeting at the Palais de Chaillot Saturday evening, it was announced here today by Baron Guy de Rothschild, chairman of the campaign. The drive will emulate the United Jewish Appeal in America.
Izthak Gruenbaum, former Israel Minister for Interior, arrived here yesterday to sign an agreement in behalf of the Israel institutions which will benefit from the drive. The agreement for a joint campaign was reached after two years of difficult intra-communal negotiations. Pro-Communist organizations still remain outside the campaign.
