The completion of twenty-five years of service to the Jewish Colonization Association by Louis Oungre, director general of the association, will be marked tomorrow upon M. Oungre’s return from the United States, where he consulted with Jewish leaders on refugee problems.
M. Oungre became associated with the Jewish Colonization Association in 1910, after several years’ activity as a jurist and financier. One of his first major tasks for the Jewish Colonization Association was an important mission to the Argentine. The proposals which he later made, and which were adopted, provided a program of rational development of the Jewish settlements which the Association now maintains in the Argentine.
