The French Ministry of Interior today made public a decree permitting the erection of the projected Memorial for the Unknown Jewish Martyrs, commemorating the memory of the 6, 000,000 Jews annihilated by the Nazis.
A statement issued here by L Schneersohn, president of the executive committee of the world organization sponsoring the project, said that work on the building will be started within the next few days. The cornerstone will be laid in a simple ceremony in the presence of the Chief Rabbi of France and other Jewish notables.
