French Premier Pierre Mendez-France received yesterday a delegation from the Canadian Jewish Congress which presented him with a scroll paying tribute to his leadership abilities. The Premier, during the conversation, mentioned his familial relationship with Abraham Gradis, who helped lay the foundation of the Jewish community in the early days of French Canada.
The scroll given M. Mendez-France termed him “a leader, in the tradition of Disraeli and Leon Blum, whose statecraft has endowed the Quai d’Orsay with a new dynamism and has brought to the councils of the continents, more persuasive than ever, the voice and grandeur of France.”
