Judge Joseph Fromberg of Charleston, S. C., has been appointed special assistant to United States Attorney General Homer S. Cummings, and has assumed his duties in the Department of Justice here.
Mr. Fromberg resigned as judge of the City Court of Charleston, to which position he was recently re-elected, in order to accept his new appointment.
Judge Fromberg has for many years been an outstanding Jewish leader of the South, and is a former president of the District Grand Lodge, B’nai B’rith; president of the Charleston Zionist District, and has held many other prominent positions in Jewish communal work both nationally and locally.
