Funeral services for William C. Ritter, retired Brooklyn banker prominent in philanthropy were held yesterday afternoon in the Jewish Community House, 7802 Bay Parkway, Brooklyn. Burial followed in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Mr. Ritter died Monday at his home, 8217 Bay Parkway, aged sixty-two. He was a native of Hungary. He retired ten years ago.
The deceased was a founder of the Congregation Sons of Israel, vice-president of the Jewish Community House of Bensonhurst, a director of Israel-Zion Hospital and the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities, a Mason and an honorary member of the Grand Army of the Republic. For a number of years he served as a marshal in Memorial Day parades.
Survivors include the widow Mrs. Tillie Ritter; three sons, Sidney, Milton and Alfred F.; a daughter, Mrs. Lillian Greenfield and five grandchildren.
