Funeral services were held at the Free Synagogue here today for Max Reinhardt, 70, world-famous stage director, who died on Sunday after a long illness. Dr. Stephen S. Wise officiated at the services.
Burial took place at the Westchester Hills Cemetery, near Hastings on Hudson, New York. There were no flowers, since Mr. Reinhardt’s last request was that all persons wishing to send flowers make a contribution to "any war effort that will help to defeat Hitler."
