Funeral services were scheduled today for Gershon Swet. Hebrew press officer of the American section of the Jewish Agency and for many years a publicist and journalist in the Jewish news field. He died July 19 at the age of 75.
Born in Russia, he came to the United States in 1948. He served as a correspondent for the daily Yediot Achronot in Tel Aviv; Novoye Russkoye Slovo, a New York newspaper; Hadoar, Hebrew weekly in New York; and La Pensee Russe in Paris. He served as a journalist on various newspapers in Berlin and in Paris and was editor of Musica Hebraica in Jerusalem and a member of the editorial staff of the Jerusalem daily, Haaretz. He was a former chairman of the Palestine Association of Journalists.
