Funeral services will be held here tomorrow for the late J.J. Trunk, Yiddish novelist, poet, scholar and journalist, who died here this weekend at the age of 74. Among the mourners are expected to be leading figures in the Jewish litarary and labor fields.
Born in Poland, and a protege there of I. L. Peretz, Mr. Trunk was active in the Jewish Socialist Labor Bund, and came to the United States in 1941 to participate in the activities of the Jewish Labor Committee. A member of the staff of The Day-Morning Journal, he wrote literary criticism as well as other creative works, having been the author of 20 books, including seven volumes of poetry. He was formerly president of the P. E.N. Club.
