Gabriel Sheffer, a Jewish journalist, was sentenced to one month imprisonment and fined 40,000 Lei for an article attacking Alexander Cuza, leader of the Roumanian anti-Semites.

Sheffer charged Cuza with having given incorrect figures with regard to the Jewish population in Roumania. Cuza alleged that the Jews in the country number fifteen percent of the general population, instead of five per cent as is the case.
