The Gaza Strip will be fully open to visits by Israelis beginning next Sunday, it was announced here today. While no permits will be needed, each Israeli visitor will be required to carry his identity card.
Meanwhile, Bank Leumi L’Israel became the first Israeli bank to open a branch in Gaza. The branch will carry out only limited functions. While it will accept Israeli currency, it will disperse only Egyptian pounds.
Arkia, Israel’s domestic airline, expanded its services today to include connections between all major airports in Israel and Kalandia Airport near the Old City of Jerusalem as well as flights over Sinai and Sharm el Sheikh.
