Several hundred Gaza women and young girls attempted to block the main Gaza Strip road this morning but dispersed without incident when an Israeli Army jeep approached, a military spokesman reported today. There were a few incidents of stone-throwing by hooligans at a girls’ high school. But generally the town was quiet after a week-end of civilian disorders. High school girls were among the most unruly elements. Today, many parents escorted their daughters to school to protect them and to make sure that they went to classes and not to a stone-throwing spree as on previous days.
