An Army spokesman said today that it might be some time before General Lucius D. Clay, European Theatre Commander, make a report to Secretary of the Army Kenneth C. Royall on a request that he investigate possible new changes that might be brought against Ilse Koch, widow of a commander of the Buchenwald death camp, charged with making lampshades and other articles of the skin of camp victims.

The Army spokesman said today that it is not known when the report will be coming through since it takes some research to find a new charge to lodge against Frau Koch, without putting her in double jeopardy. The original indictment of “crimes against humanity” was a very broad one, he explained.

The Senate Investigating Sub-Committee, meanwhile, is proceeding with its inquiry into the case in preparation for open hearings on the Army’s action, a committee aid said today.
