The Daily Telegraph reported that Lieut.-Gen. John Greer Dill, commander-in-chief of British military forces in Palestine, had rejected a suggestion from London that he return for the time being.
Gen. Dill is said to have replied that he intends to remain in the Holy Land although he does not expect trouble before the next Jewish immigration schedule is issued. Announcement of the schedule covering labor immigration from April to October, it was stated, is not likely to be made before June.
The Telegraph added that High Commissioner Sir Arthur Wauchope, in London on a leave of absence, may not return to Palestine and may be replaced by a civilian, since Gen. Dill is in charge of military affairs.
