Gen. Yitzhak Rabin will continue as Israel’s Chief of Staff of all defense forces for one more year. Prime Minister Levi Eshkol told the Cabinet yesterday. The Cabinet approved the announcement.
The usual term of a chief of staff is three years, and Gen. Rabin will finish his term at the end of the year. However, there have been exceptions previously to the procedure of automatic retirement at the end of a regular three-year term.
