Gen. David Shealtiel, Israel Minister to Cuba, presented his credentials today to the President of Cuba. He was received at the Presidential palace with a parade, with a military orchestra playing the national hymns of Cuba and Israel. In the evening he was honored at a gathering arranged by leaders of the local Jewish community. He will proceed tomorrow to the Dominican Republic to present his credentials there. His permanent residence is in Mexico where he is accredited as Israel Ambassador.
