For the first time in the history of tghe Middle West a large body of non-Jews attended synagogue services.

The novel event took place here at Tifereth Israel Community Synagogue when 200 members of the Young Women’s Christian Association of Iowa State College visited the house of worship. They heard Rabbi David Graubart make an impassioned plea for tolerance and better understanding. He condemned religious and racial imperialism.

On the strength of the impressive service and sermon Rabbi Graubart was invited to address the “Y” at State College.
