The motion picture, “Gentleman’s Agreement,” which condemns social anti-Semitism in the United States, was voted the best picture of 1948 in the 27th annual national poll of newspaper, magazine and radio film critics conducted by the trade publication, The Film Daily.
At the same time, the National Conference of Christians and Jews named film star Irene Dunns as the person “who has dons the most in 1948 to promote better understanding among peoples of all faiths.”
