Minister President Franz Geiler, addressing the first session of the Greater Hesse Consultative Assembly today, asserted that one of the primary responsibilities of any German government must be full assistance to Jews and other people who suffered from the Nazis.

Geiler declared that although such assistance was a heavy burden on the tottering German economy, it was “absolutely necessary” to make amends to those who were mistreated by the Nazis.
