One-third of the entire number of immigration certificates granted by the Palestine Government under the new labor schedule are assigned for German Chalutzim, the Palestine office in Berlin has been advised by cable from Jerusalem. The cable states that 950 labor certificates, 32% of the entire schedule are allocated for German Jewry. Of this number 160 are to be granted to German Jews now residing outside Germany.
The 500 certificates the Palestine Office received in November, out of the 1,000 certificates advanced, will be deducted from the total and the Palestine Office in Berlin, therefore, will now receive only 290 certificates. They will reach Berlin shortly.
The Palestine Office announced that “the minimum programme” for the knowledge of Hebrew will be introduced and requested of every applicant for an immigration certificate.
