Two large German firms doing business in Austria, who had discharged all their Jewish employees a month ago, today reinstated the dismissed workers. The firms, Odol, tooth paste manufacturers, and Eggu, manufacturers of shoe polish, feared a boycott by Jews in Austria.
The companies not only restored the Jewish workers to their jobs, but called in a correspondent of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency to show that they were back at work.
The dismissals attracted a great deal of attention abroad after Jewish Telegraphic Agency dispatches had described the sudden and unjustified discharge of the Jews employed by the concerns.
