The West German Parliament has adopted a law providing for redress to former German civil servants now living outside Germany who suffered from Nazi persecution.

The law provides that former civil servants who live in countries having diplomatic relations with the German Federal Republic may apply for reinstatement to their former jobs or for pensions. Israel does not have any formal relations with Germany.
