Proceedings that may lead to a trial were ordered by the Circuit Court here today against Dr. Bruno Bourweig, 2 physician now employed by the West German Defense Ministry, on charges that, during World War II, he aided Dr. Werner Heyde, the noted “euthanasia doctor.” The latter is scheduled to go on trial at Limburg next February on charges of conducting a program of “mercy killings” for the Nazi regime.
Dr. Bourweig is now employed by the Defense Ministry at the Military Hospital Institute at Freiburg. Previously, he was psychiatric adviser to the Social Court-at Flensburg. He has also been employed as army personnel chief in the state of Schleswig-Holstein.
