The ultra-rightist Deutsche National and Soldaten Zeitung denounced editorially today pro-Israel and pro-Jewish statements made recently by Chancellor Kurt Kiesinger in an exclusive interview with the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.
The editorial assailed the Chancellor’s statements in the interview that he would try to gain the confidence of Israel and of many Jews elsewhere by his policies as Chancellor. The editorial also criticized the Chancellor for receiving Dr. Nahum Goldmann and for the Chancellor’s promise to Dr. Goldmann that despite West Germany’s financial problems, there would be no curtailment of indemnification payments to victims of Nazism.
