Thirty-six teachers in German schools here whose National Socialist credo did not seem to the local Nazi leaders to be firm enough, have been dismissed from their posts and their places will be taken by thirty-six others who are being imported from Germany.
The new teachers are being sent by the foreign division of the N.S.L.B. (National Socialist “Lehrerbund”), which was organized at Darmstadt last August. The German Foreign Office will pay the travelling expenses for the imported pedagogues, and the German government will pay at least a part of their salaries.
The action is in keeping with the decisions made at the Darmstadt convention of German Foreign Schools, when all German schools outside of Germany were incorporated in N.S.L.B. and Dr. Schemm was placed in charge of foreign schools.
The Darmstadt convention also decided to use such schools as bases of Nazi propaganda in the German colonies of the various countries and as sources of information concerning these colonies and their various schools. For this purpose an N.S.L.B. chapter was to be established in every foreign school.
