Germany acknowledged that 17 artworks in the country’s museums were looted by the Nazis from Italy during the war. Three years ago, Italy published a catalog detailing 1,500 artworks plundered by the Nazis. An Italian Foreign Ministry official said meetings would likely be held with German government officials and museum curators to discuss the return of the artworks.
