Prof. Max Lieberman, famous German Jewish artist, was hailed by the outstanding representatives of German art and statesmanship yesterday, when leading personages assembled at the home of Prof. Lieberman on the occasion of his 80th birthday.
Reichsminister Kuedell brought personally a message of congratulations from President von Hindenburg to Prof. Lieberman. In this message von Hindenburg states that the German people owe a debt of gratitude to Lieberman for his life work in blazing a trail for a new art generation.
Messages of congratulations were received from the Chanceller and from the Premier of the Prussian Government. A state medal was presented to Lieberman personally by the Prussian Minister of Education Becker.
Deputations representing the Berlin University, the art academies and the Artists’ Association, paid tribute to Lieberman.
