Germany’s Jewish community is protesting plans by neo-Nazis to demonstrate on the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II. Right-wing extremists say they will demonstrate “against 60 years of liberation lies” and for an “end to the cult of guilt,” on May 8, 2005, at Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate. The city landmark, located in the government quarter, is only steps away from the new Holocaust memorial which is to be dedicated at that time.
