The Catholic newspaper Libra Belgique charged today that Gestapo agents in Belgium were denouncing to the authorities Jewish refugees who had been forced across the border by Gestapo agents in Germany. Citing instances of these Nazi tactics the newspaper urged the Government to take energetic action to end ”dangerous Gestapo activities in Belgium.”
The Cabinet has ordered all municipalities to draw up immediately lists of all foreigners residing in their districts legally and otherwise. The action puts into execution the Government’s desire to end illicit entry of foreigners and is also intended to make sure that legally admitted aliens observe the nation’s laws, especially with regard to commerce.
