Franz Auer Sommerhofer, a former Gestapo official charged with participating in the murder of 1,427 prisoners in the Oranienburg and Sachsenhausen concentration camps, has been sentenced to hang, Reuters reported today.
(Wladislaus Dopierla, who led a three-day orgy in the Dachau death camp in which 440 victims were whipped to death, was hanged in Landsberg, Bavaria, today. Executed with Dopierla for their role in the concentration camp killings were Bernhard Piorkowsky and Wenzel Wodak, who were convicted of atrocities in the Dachau and Flossenourg death camps.)
